is that worth it? espeacily since it says their on backorder. Just curious what makes that better than a stock unit with a plug in it?

I think it is worth it if you get there Hi-flow outlet because you don't have to mod your stock one and you get the correct oil flow. Oh and I bought the last one LOL.

If you unplug the EBVP in the pedestal then it won't divert the oil flow to the chamber. There is a small supply passable that is designed to keep the chamber full of basically un-pressurized oil, but it's flow isn't enough to cause a problem, especially with a BB cartridge.

No you don't need a new pedestal. The non-EBPV version is just a cleaner install and you don't have to mess with pulling the piston out and taping the hole for a pipe-plug.

The factory EBPV pedestal will work fine, I've gutted quite a few of them with no issues.

I used a 1/4" NPT pipe plug, so I used a 1/4" NPT tap. I got them from my toolbox, but you can get them at any hardware store, hydraulic supply house, industrail supply house, HD parts supplier or truck shop easily.
