I'd like to upgrade the front seats in my F250. What are my options ? My truck will have a compressor and air tank so I am not ruling out air ride, but I don't want something that is really active. More like what Dodge/Mercedes use in the Sprinter vans.

Any ideas ?

You mean these ? In a low ride.

Did your seats have air ride ? Did you mount them with the Ford bases or ???

Thanks !

That is the great thing with this site. Doesn't matter what you want to do to your truck. How complicated or how simple it may be. Someone on here is more than likely had some experience in it.

When I bought my w900, I swapped out the factory seats for a set of bostroms....one of the best things I did, alot of guys complain saying that they are not comfortable, but I never had a problem. Do yourself a favor, get the lowrider bases, and a low back model without arm rests...makes shifting more natural feeling without a arm rest in the way.

Anybody have any experience using this seat base with a factory captains chair? I have talked to Industrial Seats in the past and they say this isn't possible, but that was mainly due to liability reasons because the OEM seats haven't been crash tested with the air ride bases....

Obviously most people doing this mod wouldn't care about that..... Unfortunately they told me that if I ordered a seat base, it couldn't be returned. I think the seat base was around $250, which isn't alot of money, but it would suck if I couldn't use it, or return it.

I asked them for a sheet with dimensions on it, showing what size the typical seat they recommend to use with their air ride base would be, and the OEM seat was pretty close in size to their recommended seat.

As far as I can tell it would just be a matter of getting an source, one valve to fill, and one to dump air, and modifying the seat mount to make the OEM seat bolt up to the air ride base. Shouldn't be too tough.
