On a recent towing trip I noticed a transmission leak when I got home. At first it looked like the pan was leaking, but upon further investegation I noticed fresh oil on top of the housing and must be leaking down. I did see a vent hose on top of the housing, but it looked like it was coming from transfer case and was clean of fluid. So it there still a vent hose for the transmission on top of the housing?
FYI - I was running a new KEM 250 towing tune and had put in 16 oz of extra fluid to help with the shift flare the new tune developed. I didn't notice the leak on the way up to Oregon running without the trailer. The leak occured on the way home while towing. Tranny temps never got over 180 degrees and I do have a remote transmission filter by Dieselsite.

Extra fluid can cause fluid to come out of the vent.

Thanks Mark. I was hoping to hear from you. So there is a seperate vent for the tranny. I wonder why the leak didn't show up during normal driving events with close to the same temps?
