I was just looking through the newest Diesel Power & saw a new 6.7L with a plugged partical filter on the dyno. They said it was making around 200 hp. When I got to thinking, my IDI was shipped from the factory with the pump set for 180 hp. I did a straight pipe & turned up the pump almost half a turn. I know it's getting more fuel because of the smoke & alot better low end grunt.
So does that mean that my IDI is about as powerful as a plugged up 6.7L Dodge? :gun:

Prob. so I had heard the 6.7's are detuned way worse than the 5.9 someone had said it was in the interest of the trans living. LOL

If you really want to know I've done more work on the 99+ 7.3L than I have my IDI so far. If you really have such a problem with the IDIs then you really must have some personal problems to just to flat out attack me anytime I make a post about one. If your making 4X the HP as me fine, I could really care less. I just like playing with something diffrent I don't need a 14 second daily driver.

Make fun of that IDI all you want....My grandpas truck has one.....Those IDIs will outlast any Powerstroke you could throw at it......And Cat_rebel....What do you think of my idea...I wana take the IDI and the trans out my Grandpas 91 and throw it in a 79 Highboy....You know set of stacks.....Turn the pump up..... 35's A nice blue....What kinda mileage you get

Well my grandpas IDI has almost 600000 so.......And it runs like its new.....

more than one 500k+ power stroke running w/o problems....
i don't think one IDI is going to be enough to prove your statement. for your one IDI i know of one that has had 3 engines in 200k.
i am not saying one is better than the other, i just think that statement was unfounded.
