He's out of town with his 30' travel trailer. truck is an '03 6.0/5r110 with gauges, 4" exhaust & dp tuned SCT. He programmed the truck to race mode and took his cousin for a ride (without the trailer) to show off. Said he got on it hard, hit 1300* and let off. After that the truck had no power on take-off.

After asking some questions, it sounds like baaad turbo lag. The SCT isn't reading any trouble codes. But he did say the next time the truck was started cold it blew a huge cloud of white smoke.

I searched various boards a bit... sounds like maybe stuck vanes in the turbo or an egr cooler problem?

Ok I know when using any RACE file, its only good for the track until your truck cools down, it does cause the vanes to stick with the high temps mine did the same thing at the track and the dyno, he should have let it idle till it cooled down. the street files are enough but the Race files are best for a straight run then let it cool. my 2 cents
