I am trying to decide between the 70mm/17cm and a 66mm/17cm version of the modded H2E.

Any input woud be appreciated. I tow so that is important. I am trying to see if anyone has run any of these two turbos.

I know Luke ran the 66mm. Thanks again Luke for all of the great info you have PM'd me and the call.

How about posting the gist of it here so the rest of us can learn.

Thanks,
Howard

When i was running the hybrid h2e, the engine had- 3" plenums, fully built engine, and dynoed 550rwhp with a stock hpop. Oh, the truck had 3.55 gears ('96 f250) and i still had no major problems towing with it. The truck weighed any where between 20k-24k gross, so it was defiantly getting worked out. If you have 4.10 or 3.73's i really think the turbo will work fine.

Luke also has the 71. we have a larger turbine wheel for it now as well that should cure surge issues.
71mm H2E? Or K31?

Strokin- Isn't the 17cm housing stock for the h2e turbo? Seems to me with your b-codes you would need a little bigger housing wouldn't you? Or do you want to stick with the 17 for even quicker spool up?
Reason I ask is because I have stg1 injectors 3.55gears and 35inch tires and the spool up on my set up isn't bad at all, however I have such a bad exhuast leak at the up-pipe I have to turn the radio up to hear over it. Just picking your brain for the reason for your planned set up. Thanks Tyler

17cm Stock exhaust housing for towing, ie...spool up. The modded H2E was recommended my Bean and Cale.

The sledscreamer and 71mm s300/k31 hybrid have a 19cm housing. My concern is surge and lag while towing. The modded H2 has no reports of surging while the others surge some.

Well if thats what bean suggested, he would know what works I bet:cool:
Is the 19cm stock for the s300 or is it a larger set up for bigger injectors?

From what I understand and I am not sure if they do anything to the flange or not but it bolts up to the H2E mounting kit. S300 is the base design for some of the turbos that everyone sells. They can do quite a bit with the S300 platform from what I am told.

The S300 is the base for the QSSB correct? Anyone know what the exhaust side on a QSSB is?

Yes, the S300 mounting is the same as the H2.

I ordered the modded H2E that Bean sells, from Bean of course. It should be here next week some time.

Then back on the rollers Oct 6th to see how much of a difference the difference the new lung makes.
