My truck won't fuel up top. It sucks.

My HPO is dipping down to 1400psi :lame: so I'm tossing together a big oil setup and I'm pretty sure that will help a lot, but I'm wondering what else I can do to get some fuel up top.

Whats the trick to big fuel up top? Huge nozzles? Tuning? How far can I turn this thing before it chucks bottom end parts? I'm already running comp910's and chromoly pushrods, what else do I need?

180cc singles with stock nozzles. I want to run a turbo that I can pass off as stock (D66 comes to mind, maybe dump the boost at 35psi or so) so I can't get too wild with the fuel. It seems to me that a hybrid wouldn't dump as quick as a B code or a big A code like a swamps 275cc.

Right now all I can muster is a 3200rpm smokeless run, that oil pump is really hurting me.

Is there any way to lock out an auto so it doesn't want to shift 3rd? Back before my oil pump took a crap it would unlock and get ready to shift on a hard track.

I'm looking to build the baddest truck that I can within ITTPA stock class rules. That means no plumbing changes and no ball bearing turbos, and I can shoot water if it gets too hot but no meth. It's not a daily driver so smoke is not a big concern.

Much more fuel and you will be in the murder range of EGT's without an IC. The 180's are capable of much more if you are down to 1400 psi.

I would think they would let you run and IC though seings how all the later 7.3's have them.

BTW how do you plan on putting big oil in there without changing the plumbing? Fuel bowl and pump have to be removed.

They mean turbo plumbing.. but reguardless I intend to keep the plastic cover to hide some of my goodies. I'm already running twin SD pumps and nobody has taken notice yet.

The HPOP was running strong when I got it and the 180's had some balls, but even at their best I never saw over 1400 degrees on the pulling track. I think the D66 should give me enough air to keep it from melting down with a set of sub-300cc injectors. If not we'll sneak some water in there. IMHO an air to air cooler isn't worth the effort in a pulling truck anyway because the truck never gets a whole lot groundspeed.

The fan blows on it though, and it's a heat exchanger none the less. I think an intercooler would help.

A 4R100 will stay in second if you leave the shifter in second. Not sure about a E4OD, I'm sure someone could write you a custom pulling tune that would only shift 1-2 and whatever rev limiter you want.

you mean 3200 with a load on engine or 3200 rev limiter? If its 3200 with a load, you just need more power:D I think an intercooler will help some too, even going 20 mph down the pulling track.

3200 with a load... I used to be able to run upwards of 3500 with a steady haze, now its 3200rpms, super clean with a CEL.

I just picked up a gen 3 pump used so we will remedy that real quick... and more power is in the plans:gun:

Am I on the right track here? Will a big A code dump the fuel faster than a hybrid? Should I be doing some machine work to get the oil out faster or is that not so much an issue?
