Well now that I've got my new Gen Gen @ home it may or may not be time to start on #2. Not becasue I think I'll pop it but becasue I'm toying with the ider of having a dedicated pull truck. I'd like to go with all new parts so I want the PN for a bare 444E block from IH Aynone got that. If you do let me know. Even the vin from a truck that ran a 444E will work. Thanks

I would rather buil a motor from a used one because its seasoned andin the engine building buisness we like those better. I understand your concern as far as cracks and those kind of things go. If I was gonna build something, I would look for a motor that ran good just had a lot of miles, if it made it that far chances are it will last way longer than the rest of the truck. Just my 2 cents worth.

Just take the used block and cryo it. A "Seasoned" block just means that a lot of the streses have been relived that could make it flex around initially. Cryo feezing it won't do anything like that.

Althought I would check on the price of a new one. If it is just a little more than buying a used core and doing all the machine work I would probably go new also.
