**Need help ASAP- Starter Solenoid Wiring**

Small single wire with push-on terminal goes to the small terminal on the relay.

Red wire from starter goes to one of the large terminals on the relay (usu. the one toward the rear).

ALL other wires go to the other large terminal on the relay (usu the one toward the front).

Starter is grounded through its mount to the engine. Shouldn't require a ground wire.

First - the SOLENOID is on the STARTER. The RELAY is on the FENDER.

The black wire on the starter solenoid is not a ground wire. It's only black in color because some PO was too cheap or unmotivated to get a red wire for that purpose. It is the trigger wire for the solenoid that comes from the relay. The other end of that wire should go on one of the big posts on the relay. ALL the other ring terminals should go on the other post. As said above, that post with all the other ring terminals is just acting as a junction point for everything else fed by the battery.

The big wire on the starter should NOT go where the black wire is; again, that's the solenoid. The big wire should remain connected to the main starter motor where it is now.

The in-line fuse is probably some aftermarket accessory. That junction terminal is the right place to hook it up, but using the old cold-war-era glass tube fuse in a vehicle that is otherwise equipped with blade fuses is, well, old-school.
