i have only had this truck for 7000 miles. It is a 2005 with 145,000 miles on it. every thing is stock motor wise other then the exhaust and thats only some cat back duel setup. it has only done this about 5 times in 7000 miles, the last time it did it was yesterday. (and the day before once too) when driving the rpms drop no mater where the pedal is and it stays there for a few seconds and blows smoke (it looks like a light blue or whiteish smoke) for 5-9 seconds then will run fine the rest of the day. my question is could it be the ficm geeking out? or do i have a bigger problem? the temps on the dash are normal when it dose this.

i may have 2 bad injectors or this ficm is causing all the problems from what i am getting told on my cold start problem treads. i am ready to scoop an sct with an exhaust temp gage to help diagnose these problems. or at lest so i can monitor my exhaust temps.

sounds like an egr valve sticking open.

the ficm voltage should never go below 46v, so test that and if its bad, dont get a ford one. go with ed at ficmrepair.com. hes the best and u wont drop $1000.

u should switch to 5w-40 synthetic next time because its good for injectors and easy starting. id get a coolant filter and some gauges. i love my scangauge2. flush out the gold coolant if ur temps are bad, but it really should be flushed and switched to red elc.

Have you checked ICP sensor?

Icp is at 7.93 right now. Cold with the truck ready to start.

I am sitting in the cold 23 degrees truck right now with the computer.
I did not try to start the truck yet
Intake air 34
Intake air 2 -4

FICM logic power 12.00
FICM vehicle power 12.00
FICM main power 48.50

Engine oil temp 4.28


When I did the injector buzz test it sounded like more of a chopped up clicking on cylinders 1 4 And 7 those sounded diffrent as I did the test a few more times. (maybe they had the right pressure in them after doing the test 5 times?)



I'm going to start it right now and see what happens.

What else should I be looking at? Thanks

Icp is at 617 psi


I'm glad some one is on right now. Thanks. What is ipr I don't see that on hear?

IPR Injection Pressure Regulator

KOEO, LOW IDLE, HIGH IDLE, OPERATING RANGE:

KO=14.84, LI=24, HI=40.60, OR=0-50 %

Cranking, the IPR should read upwards of 84%. Or that's what I have learned.

Your ICP is looking okay at this point. That shouldn't go any lower though.

ICP:
KO=0 LI=625.5 HI=1400-1450 OR=0-4045

I'm back in the truck right now ready to crank it over.

Readings before starting it are

Intake air 84
Intake air 84.20

FICM logic power 12.50
FICM vehicle power 12.50
FICM main power 48.50

Engine oil temp sensor 88

The truck has been fine since all this but it is now running ruff for 5 mins in the morning even tho it is 75 out.

I need injectors. Where can I get a reman set or a good deal on them? Any one have a good set of cores thay want to sell me?

Mine ran rough in the morning I went to rotella t6 and rev-x cleared it up. Besides this new problem I have the rev-x really did work
