My old work truck is going to auction and i was wondering what everyone thought about using the motor for a swap. It is a 1996 7.3L that has 200,00K on it (not miles) Runs good. Had a compression test done at ford and it had 410 on all the cylinders. It is a fleet vehicle so it got serviced every 5000K The truck is a f350 reg cab lx cab & chassie. I was thinking about putting it in my 02 cause it has forged rods in it. Just seeing what everyone thought?
Thanks

You'll have to swap some parts around, front cover, HPOP, intake plenums, fuel filter/pump setup and driver side exhaust manifolds are different to start.

Why not just swap out to forged rods for under 800 instead of swapping motors..? Just a thought

Because Cota pretty much covered it. I would probably set the motor in my garage and put a bunch of money in it before swapping it into my truck. Sounds like it is a good strong builder.
