Saturday I fixed the leak where my dipstick meets the oil pan. When I tried to fish out the old o-ring it must have been split and fell into the oil pan. I'm thinking/hoping that if anything, it will get chewed up and the filter will take care of it. Do you guys think a rubber 0-ring in the oil pan can do any damage? Any thoughts would be appreciated?

I should stay down there on the bottom of the pan.

careful around the dipstick, it takes some operations skills,
others with bad luck have had to pull the motor to replace parts on it.

There is a pedistal o-ring living life somewhere in my oil pan. They sink so you should be OK.
