Yea, I'm with him. Whats the deal no one likes Mich. or any of the other neighboring states. I see plenty of trucks around here in the Toledo area that are tricked so there is a interest in oil burners here.

From what I've seen Michigan is rather dead when it comes to events. You should have come out to Berville for the truck pull. They had some cool trucks out there. I think there are going to be a few Diesels down at a strip around or South of Detroit next month.
Usually my buddys & I just park our stacked trucks over at Auto Zone or TSC & talk trucks for a few hours. Wal-Mart & Meijer's have all of the low rider with neon lights kids. Had a cop show up when we all met up at TSC last time, he just wanted to ask JohnT how he liked his tires. He figgured as long as we wern't doing burnouts or nothing wild like that we were alright. If anyone wants to organize a parking lot social in Michigan just let me know.

A little farther up than monroe, hes talking about Lapeer. Lapeer is about 15 away from flint by freeway.
Yeah whats is wrong with michigan there are not any events. Maybe we should just make one up and roll with it. There is Merchants Automotive in the spring, but that is mostly for dirtymaxs.

I second that. Went this year and hung out about and hour (long enough to look at the 5 fords that were there) and left. I think the oil burners need to invade the Dunes!! Black smoke against the golden sand looks very nice!!

Yep, good old growing bigger by the day Lapeer. About 2 hours north of The Motor City & about 20 mins east of The chevy Heartland.
So you tend to see alot of everything. I thought about trying to get everyone out to the Lapeer dragway this summer but like everything else in life something always comes up. I know enough people around here & they know people that would show up if we got a date & event set.
We can forget about Michigan Powerstroke, they were about as organized as a chinese fire drill, which is why they no longer exist. It really is a shame too because there isn't really a "SET" place to post up event info. We can do it here, but the people that don't know about this site are left in the dark until after it's happened. That goes the other way too. With cooler weather on the way I don't know if we'll have any more events around here this year. But we really need to plan on something next year. Like John said it's just too boring around here.:lookaround:

There is usually an event put on by Merchant Automotive of Holland,MI in the spring.
Now before ya'll start throwing tomatoes....they are a great group of Duramax guys and they love us Ford people to come to their events. Heck, they drive down to our Smokin Event everytime we have one.

Yikes, Lapeer is a drive for me just to hang out and talk diesel. I go up there for a three day event at Hunters Run, but thats pretty much it. I went this year for the first time in almost ten years. Any one thought of trying to organize something at Milan Drag Way ? Theres some other tracks up there too, I just don't know the names off hand. The track your talking about I've heard of, the boss was gonna take his Mustange up there last year after Milan closed for the season. We have Norwalk too, which is owned by Summit racing equipment now. I guess if someone sat down and did some planing we could proble get a deal going somewhere in the area.

I like everyone's ideas, We just need to get something together in mid, to lower michigan or even uper ohio, indiana area. It's way to boring around here, Theres' no one to compare and compete with around my neck of the woods. We need to arrange something sometime, dyno, pulls, anything!

For anyone that wants to join us. Me & a few of my buddy's are going up there on Oct 6th & 7th & I'll have my IDI up there. We'll have a few OBS Powerstrokes with stacks. If anyone want to join us your more than welcome too, we might just start us a convoy!:redspotdance:

I don't live in Mich. but if my arm was a little stronger I could proble throw a rock and hit the state though. I wish we had more interest in big trucks around here, but there are lots of trucks I just think most people don't know or don't care about sites like ours. Fast Freddy is up in Monroe, he is what I would consider a big dog in the diesel world.

He also lives about 3 hours from me. Like you said though most of the big guys don't sit online everynight, I know because I talk to enough of them. My area is full of "Big Trucks" I see enough of them & tend know who actually makes some real power & who's just trying to look cool around here. We have more than a few fast trucks around here too.
Like I said if we can get a time & place set & get the word out we could have a good event. The hardest part is finding a place everyone want's to meet up at. Then the other part is this a Ford only even, or will this be open to all Diesels?
Sorry you didn't have a good time. We welcomed everyone to come, dodge boys, Fords and Dmax. We had a truck pull & race.
Next year we are trying to have the Diesel Event for One day at a larger spot with Dyno & Truck Pulls. We (Merchant Automotive) hope that you can come.
I know my husband & I enjoy coming down to Smokn' in the spring, just like Diane said. We are just a few Dmax's compared to the Fords, but love it anyway. We look forward to TN next year. Hopefully you all will be there too, so we can meet you.
