255/85-16r is about the biggest you can go without needing a spacer. A 265/75-16r will be a 31/10.50-16r & will require a small spacer to avoid rubbing. It will also be a shorter tire then a 235/85-16r by an inch or so.

Thanks! How much spacer do you think? That would be cheaper than buying 4 tires (since I already have 4 AT's)...and look FAT. I figured the sled pulling guys would chime in with their combo...
Can't say for sure on a 265 but I think you might get by with a 1/2" spacer.

I run 265/75/16's on my 2001 with aluminum wheels, no touching even at 24K lbs bumper pull. They are almost exactly the same height as 235/85/16s. Brand of tire changes overall width, so some brands have a wider tire than others.

I have the 2in spacers from fred worth EVERY penny. I tow a 15k tow hauler often and im getting a 18k 5er toyhauler soon. I have 315 75 r16 but have a 5in block in the rear and a mini spring pack in the front. couple down falls.... they wear funny..not alot of shops will touch them with such a big tire...mpg goes down.. you get Axle wrap and need traction bars...and everything wears out faster.. IF you Tow alot i wouldnt get 35's. im playing with the idea of going to 285 75 16 they look pretty good when these wear out might get that sizw, but i love the look of 35's.

Are these rims "Alcoa's"?
The factory superduty dually aluminum rims are made by Alcoa. I'm running 285/75-16's with 2" hubcentric spacers from wheeladapters.com, and couldn't be happier with the look or performance of the truck.

So far I'm happy with them, the few miles they've seen anyway.
