I looking for a blow off valve or boost regulator for the map sensor. I just put on a H2E, and now when I pulled it defueled on me. How do I fix this or is this a tuning issue ?

Thanks in advance

the regulators arnt as effective as the blow off valves. they dont react to the quick building boost like the blow offs will. blowing off such a little amount of boost isnt gonna noticibly effect power

I think the opposite of you I think the regulators are the best and what happens if the BOV get stuck open that can't be good when you aren't making much boost.

My regulator from ITP seems to be quite effective. Boost will go from 5 psi to 30 psi in the blink of an eye and no SES light. Before the regulator it would show me the SES light and throw a code every time.

Then again mine is just a stock OBS turbo with a 1.00 housing on it also :poke:

yeah I dont see any ses light from the 25lbs Im running with my itp setup. kinda silly thinking that a regulator cant respond quickly.

The OBS map sensor seems to enrich fuel only up to 17-18 psi. I have my pressure regulator set to about 19.5 psi to allow for any pressure overshoot. The OBS CEL seems to be set at about 22 or so psi. This setup doesn't seem to be limiting engine output since I have dynoed it at 408 hp with a stock muffler/3-1/2" tailpipe, OBS 1.0 turbo doing 32psi. The pressure regulator is now still doing fine with a "real performance" 4" dual exhaust/Terminator, just have not got around to dynoing the present setup (Still with ratty old 1.0 stock turbo and stronger than ever). :D

I have never set a CEl for overboost but did experience a sort of defuel that was much like a gasser hitting the rev limiter. It would happen at about 33 psi. installed the $25 mini regulator from the hardware store set at 24 psi and don't have that issue any more. Pulls stonger on the top end too. I feel more comfortable with not creating boost leaks. I tested the regulator with shop air and had no issues taking 140 psi down to 24. The needle never went over 24 once it was set.

i had a problem with mine after i had my stock turbo modified years ago, when i was runnin b codes, i had tried another regulator when i had switched to a h2e and it cured it for a while i think it was the heat getting to the regs i used, that has just been my experience with them. i like the blow off's simple works great.

Dude, you should have asked me at the G-ville pull. :poke: I have the ITP one and it works awesome.
