This thread is spawned from the "red tube" thread. My question is this:

Wouldn't there be more power to be had by going to a bigger map sensor that has the ability to see higher boost without defueling? With a fooler if the MAP is only seeing 22 psi and you're pulling 35 psi, is the computer only putting out fuel for 22 psi or does the chip/programmer take care of that? If you are getting fuel for 35 psi, would you get more accurate performance with a bigger MAP that can see that boost and cut out the human error from the tuner?

As far as I can tell, the tuners' got it pretty much figured out. Some tuners don't even need the boost fooler anymore, afaik anyway.

But I don't think it's as simple as just putting on a bigger map sensor, the map sensor itself just measures the pressure and sends a signal, it's the PCM that defuels..

I suppose a custom map sensor could work, but I'd think that'd be worth a few $$$
