Dang it sucks when you rode a horse elk scouting all day than have to spend a couple hours laying over the engine. :(

Frickin UVC harness let loose. Popped the VC, tied it with baling wire :lame:
got me over the mountain and I coasted into the next little town.

There it let loose again, so I bought some tools (left most of mine at home :lame:) popped the VC again, zip tied it, got it running on 7 cylinders and brought her home.

I can still pull a 6% grade at 75 mph with 7 cylinders. Two horses in a 4-horse bumper pull. Rock on :ford:

O BTW, pretty sure this has been my intermitten jumpy throttle issue too. A couple of times cutting out today felt just like it has before. Guess one way to fix those little bitty issues is to wait til they become great big issues. LOL

A day on horseback is never a bad day............. I bought new harness with the revised clip to change out the OEM when putting in the injectors. Cale and company put a small dab of epoxy in two of the corners and let it cure overnight just for insurance. I was worried that it would never come out again but they assured me that it would.

Nope, day on horseback was great. Laying on the truck was the not-fun part.

Wonder what kind of epoxy they used?

I have some of the little clips, but it's my understanding you dont need them with the updated harness?

I hear ya. No clips on mine. The epoxy was just a bb sized bit of epoxy putty. Pushed into a couple of corners of the connected clip.

That sounds like a good idea. I have mine apart right now, I can spray them up well with electric clean and try this. Thanks.

the clips were a fix for existing harnesses. The updated harness has additional plastic under the clip to firm it up and make it harder to push down and release. The pins and fit of the plug inside the valve cover plug is much tighter as well.

Anybody have a Part # for the UVC harness?
I believe both left and right side are IH part # 1830844C93. Mine were less than $20 each. These have a new revised clip that does not require the little shims to keep it in place but BTS uses a small pea sized bead of epoxy putty in two of four corners to make sure it stays in place. Let it cure overnight and it should never fall out.

They do. I tried to pull it back off and pull hard and it didn't want to budge.
