The tin nut is loose and the whole assembly where the plug is for the ipr rotates. I have been having a lopey idle and a little underpowered, is this tin nut supposed to be tight. I did a search and from i`m understanding this tin nut will loosen and can effect your trucks performance. Is this correct? Thanks, Roger.

Yes, it is supposed to be tight.

Just get in there and snug it up good. It does not take kindly to massive amounts of torque.

Greatly as the IPR regulates the amount of oil pressure sent through the system.

I don`t really understand what the tin nut is doing. I haven`t taken it apart yet to tighten the tin nut. What exactly is the tin nut doing?

Holds everything behind it together. Just tighten it up, even finger tight is enough. I for sure wouldn't go over 5 lbs or so.

Start your truck, before and after, you tell us how much difference it makes.
