Loose automatic shifter

My trucks got a loose shifter to were I have to push it up sometimes to start it, it’s way looser then it should be. It’s not because of those two torx screws or whatever you wanna call them that causes most peoples to be loose. What else could it be

I assume this is an auto trans, but my truck had the same issue when i bought it where the shifter was super loose and I could move it around in a good 2-4 inch circle ( I looked back at a video I took and I guess I over exaggerated with the 6-7) . I replaced the the shifter arm ( idk what its called) then its side to side play was gone

So you replaced the actual black shifter piece?
ya, there is this little round piece at the end that gets worn down over time
If the torx screws are tight, than the issue is probably with the shift tube. Either the tub is bad, or the moun bushings are bad.
It is probably th tube though, they were out over time

Which Torx screws are YOU talking about? There are at least 3 pairs that can affect the feel of the shifter. Read this page & follow the links on it:

If you mean the 2 sets clamping in the actually column then yes those are tight two and I replaced the bushing, what do you think the problem is
If you mean...
The issue is what YOU mean. Still waiting for you...
I suck at visualizing stuff, is it possible to get a video of exactly what's happening? ( this may help others as well)
