Anyone know of any good shops that can give me a decent paint job for under a grand. Looking mainly in the nc/sc region. I live near Charlotte. I know y'all are all gonna say you get what you pay for and a good paint job for cheap doesnt exist. The way I see it, it's an old truck and any painting done to it will make it look better than it does now. But let me know yall

no one will give a "GOOD" paint job for under $1,000.00.....it's not possible...there are some things that cheap and good and even decent don't mix well with....paintjobs are one...I had a decent paintjob done on my truck at MAACO in VB for 1800.00 and that was fairly cheap...only because the owner hooked me up pretty well...you're going to have to drop some "decent" cash for a "good" job.

Surely there has to be someone that'll do it cheap. Maybe I'll do the prep work to save some

if you can do it yourself you may get away with cheapish....still gonna be over a grand though for good primer, paint and clear. hell a good clear cost a lot by itself. youll want to get all the old paint and primer off and down to bare metal. then youll want to fix all the dings and dents and spray the thing with a good primer then block it all out strait. if you want a good looking paint job your gonna have to either do weeks worth of prep work or pay someone good money to do it for you. I feel like a decent paint job should cost anywhere from 5k to 10k depending on how bad the body of the truck is to begin with. also depending on how good of a quality paint you go with.

why don't you just keep saving up and get a good job rather than try to do it on the cheap and have more than you're bargained for?

not trying to sound like or be a dick...take it from someone who's been in your EXACT situation....you'll be much happier saving up and getting a GOOD paint job versus getting a crappy job and just having to save up all over again to fix the crappy job that they did for cheap.

I do too bud...but trust me...mine's done pretty damn good but not quite the way I'd like it to be....so I would have loved to have waited and done it 110% correct...but my wife wanted to surprise me as my "post-deployment coming home, Christmas Present" 2 years ago...and hid the fact she was painting it from me...so no I live with it because my wife did it and the exterior is pretty great...but there's a few things that could have been done better. do yourself a favor and keep saving and do it right the first time. every guy on here will tell you, do it right the first time and you won't have to do it again.
