We'll I wasn't sure where this belonged, so to be fair to the OBS & Superduty guys I figgured I'd post this here. I'd like to see your best "tough bumper" pics, front or rear.
I'm in the middle of building a monster rear bumper. It started out as two 6"X6'X1/4" thick I-Beams welded together. I cut off the back of the top beam for clearance. Then I cut the lower corners to give it some shape. When I had it on the scale it was around 175lbs. I have some 1/4" steel plate already cut for the face to cover it up. Plus I added a 20ton pintle hook & some more brackets. I just need to get the rear bumper off, but I'm fighting the good old Michigan salt rust. Also trying to figgure out what to do about the reciever hitch issue. But we'll figgure that out after we get the old bumper off.
Well enough talking, here's some pics. I had it on the front of my F150 5.0L for about a month, along with the yellow grill it was a real head turner.:ford:

Update...I cut apart the two I beams & made one then boxed it in with 1/4" steel plate. I kept my 20 ton pintle on for saving girls who get stuck in a ditch in the winter.;)
Overall I'm happy with the way it came out, still got to make a plate for the top & add a few more goodies. I no longer fear tailgaters! :D

We used the multi flap sandpaper wheels. Just because I gets things so much smoother & looks so much better than an abrasive grinding wheel. But they do cost more.:(
We went through quite a few 4 1/2" Cutoff wheels of this. I think a plasma cutter would be cheaper & easyier in the long run if your making a few of them. One more reason for me to get a new toy!

That bumper is a rare one now a days last I heard if you wanted one you would have to wait 6 months for the guy to get it built but they are the nicest looking and strongest bumpers I have ever seen.
