whats your guy's best advise to give to someone that are doing the swap?

thanks
Patience. I took 8 mos to do mine, did things as best I could (still made mistakes and had to spend more $$ to make it right). Buy the adapter plate and flexplate from Destroked, engine mounts from FordCummins or fabricate your own (VP 24Vers are a good starting point). Shop around on the forums for used parts (especially CompD), I put mine together relatively cheap by doing so (don't forget Ebay too). There's been quite a few folks selling conversion parts over the past year for several hundred dollars cheaper than new, and its not like they wear out, even if you find one with a stripped thread, Helicoils will fix that. Oh, and ask questions if you get stuck...there's a lot of folks that have done the swap and can save you a lot of headaches.

ABSOLUTELY the truth. Don't get in a hurry, shop around and look for deals when you can. I gathered parts for several months before we even pulled it into the shop and then still didnt get in a hurry. Patience is key. But there are definitely deals out there when you look for them. You can do a swap SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper by not getting in a hurry and doing it right the first time looking for deals as you go.

I'm on my second 12v conversion. Both were 460 auto's. Both went to 12 valve's with E4od. Used adapters from both companies, no real difference. Destroked sucks for tech support. I ran the compushift on the first one and it was okay but needed tuning and no one could help, running the PCS now and destroked's guy quit supposedly so they were no help what so ever. I found a guy on CompD that has been helping me and its very close but you don't get much help from anyone else on the forums on that. Motor mounts from Fordcummins (conversion specialists), also get their bushing kit for gauges.

Duke drummer that's a crazy little stubby truck. I think if my 7.3 ever decides enough is enough I'm putting in a 12v . I gotta get me a 70s ford with a real Detroit though

She'll be getting a p pump next year. Can't wait. Going with either a 5 or 6 speed. Plan to paint it raven black, 92-97 front clip, grey interior, dually conversion, alcoa wheels, and rolling on 33s for one WICKED tow rig
