does the cab have to come off to fix leaking up-pipes? Not sure if they're cracked or what, but there's soot on fire-wall.

no it doesnt. i dont pull the cabs to do them unless i have a bolt break in the turbo from one of the Up pipes.

Tools needed-http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item.asp?P65=&tool=all&item_ID=92197&group_ID=22124&store=snapon-store&dir=catalog
That socket is worth its weight in gold.

For when that wont do, a flex head 10mm ratchet wrench is great. MAC tools has a 6pt 10mm flex head stubby and regular length flex head. theyre $$$ compared to gear wrench.

this will help along with a pry bar to get extra leverage on the wrench for the up pipe bolts.

i use this for the manifold to up pipe nuts. along with a 1/2 inch and 13mm twist socket for those tricky ones that round off.

oh and a flex head fine tooth ratchet. i dont pull the turbo out but sometimes i do when i cant fandangle them out the right way theyre hefty but 2 hold down bolts, the 17mm banjo bolts remove the horse shoe with fuel cooler from the drivers side valve cover just pull the hold down nuts off the valve cover bolt studs remove the whole thing as an assembly pop the vgt actuator rod off. theyre tricky to get out. pry bar on each side of the turbos and wiggle them up and down they pop lose and from there you have to tilt the turbos just right to clear the oil filter and fuel filter housing.

You will need the turbo gasket kit and dont let the high pressure and low pressure turbos separate. and when you set the turbos back in on the pedestal make sure you put the orange dildo looking one in the turbo first and replace the green o ring on the oil drain tube. if the dowel sticks in the turbo pop it out and clean it with a wire wheel and put high temp anti seize on the down and pop it back into the pedestal.
