So my 06 F350 XLT didn't come with factory keyless entry. I know there are tons of aftermarket systems that would add alarm and keyless entry to my vehicle. But my question is, would it be possible to install a factory keyless entry unit to my vehicle so that I could also install the keypad on the door? I know the ford factory keyless entry unit I need is part number 2W7J-19A498-AA. But I am unsure about how the security system hooks up and if it would be possible/worth it to install factory oem keyless entry or just go aftermarket. Any help is appreciated.

I think it's going to be quite difficult to install the OEM system. I think the RKE (remote keyless entry) also needs the VSM (vehicle security module) to work correctly. These devices would then need to be connected to the network in the truck (I doubt any of the correct plugs will be there).
Next, the wiring harnesses in the doors are different. Vehicles without RKE use a 5 wire reversing setup to toggle the locks (all wires from actuators go back to switches). With the RKE, the actuators have one wire to the module and the other to ground.

As much as I love the keypad, I can't see that it would be very practical to add it.
