ok first off 250 never came with a solid axle factory in our body style so eithor you have twin traction beams or someone swapped it for a dana 60 from a 350
if its still 250 stuff I would use an add a leaf it actually made mine ride better and bout 1.5-2 inches is all you want to lift a 250 without using a full lift kit
it unloads the stock spring some and kinda acts like a progressive spring now after bout 3/4 -1" compression its stiff as hell but for most of the hwy driving I do its better
it may just be the fact that my front springs have sagged so much from 350k miles
but it defintally rides better than my buddies old stock 250 did
Yes actually it is the twin traction beam, I looked briefly on my way to work and thought it was a solid axle. So the add a leaf kit is the best way to go, my springs are not that old but the truck used to have a12 ft truck camper on it so it has squatted the front pretty good.
