Had Jiffy Lube change my antifreeze in my 04 6.0 and I asked them if they had the correct ford gold coolant. THey said that they use their green antifreeze and then add the motorcraft additive to it and it works fine. Well now that I think about it more, I have become concerned if I should drain it back out and put the correct stuff in. What do you folks think?? Is Jiffy Lube right??

skank: Did you see them add the motorcraft additive? Don't trust no ones word!! Esp a corner quick lube!!! Not to be a butt head...What brand is their so called green coolant?

If you want it done right!! You have to do it yourself!! Sad but so so true...

Do as madpogue said... get some test strips and measure the sca level...

This is one reason I flushed and poured in ELC and never have to worry about anything for 5yrs...

None or only maybe 2 within 200 quick lube quacks will stock the correct diesel coolant...

Jiffy lube = disaster

I have caught them leaving a dipstick sitting on a motor,an oil cap off and on a toyota with 2 different size wipers mixing them up ,,

I have a jiffy lube card = free oil changes for My superduty

I change my own oil at my dime

Latest "Iffy Lube" story from the Saturn world; dude went in for an oil change; they spun off the TRANNY filter; noticed the red fluid pouring out  , screwed up putting it back on, new fluid leaked out; tranny went bye-bye.

Agreed with ^^^^^^ ; a free oil change at Jiffy Lube isn't worth the risk to your truck.

The biggest issue will be if they got all of the gold out before dumping in their green coolant...HOAT and non-hoat coolants don't play well together. If it were my truck I would dump it, flush it properly and refill with the proper coolant.

Drain it and do it yourself or go to a diesel shop or ford dealer. It is definitely a DIY job for most people but just get it done soon because as stated earlier the two fluids may not play nice together.
Good luck and let us all know what happens.

I'm curious if the Corner Quick Lube even added any such additive--If he tested it?

I'm looking for a shop in the Portland, Oregon area that I can trust to do a thorough flush and restore on my 06 f250 6.0. Any suggestions/recommendations.
