I’d rather my money went to Mexico, but it could be made in North Korea just so long as it last as long as it should.

My biggest concern about keeping these trucks on the road is all these little parts that we counted on motorcraft to make at their traditional quality.

I have put three new, and one rebuilt, on the 99. I hope it is the oil lines leaking on the IPR, but it has failed on me. I also remember that I had a dry valley for several months.

Real Life Question!

Proving that an old dog can learn a new trick -- as I am replacing the High Pressure Oil Lines, I removed the Injector Control Pressure Sensor so I wouldn't break it like that stupid broad mechanic-ing on the 00 did.

Oil oozed out of the left oil rail IPC Sensor hole (Front, #1 port) as one might expect.

So, cleaned up all the oil and replaced the right line and then loosened both ends and removed the one side of the left line from the oil rail. Oil oozed out of the oil line hole (#2 from front port).

Am I missing something? How can no oil come out of the IPC #1 hole up front, but oil ooze out of the oil line #2 hole, the next port to the rear of the IPC hole in the same oil rail?

That's my point. I would have THOUGHT all the oil would have drained from the first port.

But oil began draining from the second port!

No, the truck is not on an incline. I don't get it.

As I’ve been told, most engines are on a incline within the truck leaning back. Not much, couple degrees.

Well, New HP oil lines installed. What a royal pain in the neck.

Cleaned the valley like six times. Now I'm going to have to check my fuel bowl in case diesel leaks.

PCMs arrived in Chattanooga today. Cannot wait to hear the results of testing.

Diesel Technology of Chattanooga (DTC - do ya see what they did there?) has tested both PCMs and are shipping back today. I love peace of mind!

I found these guys amazingly responsive to emails and such. I learned a lot.

There are sure a lot of people that just throw parts at things.

For me, once I got you guys to identify parts for me, I read about them extensively. Life's too short not to learn from others' mistakes.

PCMs came in, and I was able to work quickly . . . well, somewhat. I have my two trucks up.

I put the PCM in and it was so smooth, I was thinking day-um, I've been doing this too much.

Of course it went in smoothly, it knocked the $%^&*() firewall gasket off!

Wrestled with that for a while, got it together. Long crank due to no oil in the rails, but she fired up after 15sec!

Ran the full list of tests on the 99.
Cylinder Contribution test: Got codes for Injector 3 and injector 8 Dirty, Faulty, or plugged.

Thoughts?

Rest of the codes were known to me already, except the Accessory Delay Relay Contact Short to Battery.
