Back to the engine. Ever since it turned cold, I have noticed a light blue-gray smoke from the exhaust. It seems to go away once the engine is warmed up.

Could that injector be causing it, or is something else going on?

could be injector, weak glow plug, or maybe that cylinder is a little low on compression and is taking a little longer to warm up.

I am getting this code recently. I have a deleted pedestal but also the RiffRaff link to stop this code. Why would it show up again?

What are the Possible Causes of the Code P0476?

• Faulty Exhaust Back Pressure Valve
• Exhaust Back Pressure Valve harness is open or shorted
• Exhaust Back Pressure Valve circuit poor electrical connection

Working on the 00 Pig yesterday, rear brakes. I bought all the high-end stuff last year. Did not have the rear axle inside bearings.

Managed to find one in town. The other arrives in the morning.

Good call to plan to buy them all, if I had bought them ALL. The bearings - under hand pressure - felt like they had rumble strips inside.

New PowerBrake Calipers, Rotors, parking brake shoes and hardware.

Right rear Axle seal had been seeping.

Pig has new brakes all around. Parking brake is way hard to push. I sure hope that breaks in.

If you seal were seeping... check the axle vent tube for blockages. On my old 87 I had to replace the seals a couple of times because they kept "failing." When they failed a third time I took a close look at the axle... and discovered that a mud wasp had made a home in the vent line. As the axle got hot the pressure inside would build and force oil out though the wheel seals. Once I removed the nest the seals stopped having problems.

Yes. TBH -- I took it over to a retired Fire Dept mechanic's place -- he has fancy tools and experience I lack.

Which was a good thing, because the obstinate biotch (the truck, not me) stubbornly made every step take forever . . . as well as the missing bearing I didn't have. It's good to have friends.

I was towing up a hill @ 55mph and the load went to 100%. A few hundred yards later, it lost all power and slowed to 35mph Is that defueling?

i made my own. small air pressure regulator from harbor freight set to 19 psi. two small brass nipples, two small hose clamps. cut the map sensor line and stuck it in there.
total cost was under $15 15 years ago when i got the 02.
