I made 3 runs tonight. First 2 were 2nd Gear Launches to see what it would do. Both were about .5 seconds quicker 60' time than previous, but when the boost hit it still broke the tires loose and I had bad wheel hop issues both times that forced me to back out of it. Coupled with shifting issues from manually shifting the truck, these were not great passes.
Last pass was a no boost launch in Drive. I was totally prepared to have to feather the throttle to try to manage tire spin and get it to hook...all I wanted was a 100mph trap speed. Track prep was great due to the ADRA event that was running and the damn thing just hooked...not so much as a peep from the tires.
Here's the passes in order:
First Pass - Second Gear Launch, Lots of wheel hop and problems shifting.
RT: .375
60': 2.281
1/8: 10.371 @ 67.504
1/4: 15.788 @ 93.985
Second Pass - Second Gear Launch, Lots of wheel hop, better shifting but still hit the limiter (doesn't like to be manually shifted)
RT: .255
60': 2.329
1/8: 9.934 @ 74.119
1/4: 15.061 @ 97.262
Third pass, Launch in Drive, No boost...just about 200 rpm above idle...amazingly no wheel spin or hop...it just hooked and went.
RT: .142
60': 2.268
1/8: 9.023 @ 80.250
1/4: 13.897 @ 100.589
All of these runs were made on 2 year old BFG "Rugged Terrain" tires (35psi in back and 65psi in front).
Now I REALLY can't wait to get slicks on it and try some boosted launches!!!
