Lose the K&N, maybe change out your fuel filter. I average 15-17. SC/LB, 4wd, 6spd. 285/75/16's that's in my tow/eco. tune, I have seen 21 driving like a senior citizen.

I'd send your chip into MattR66 or Aggie or Power Hungry & have it reburned. I wouldn't run the TS chip in the 140 (fuel 7) setting.

I have a 2000 CC SB 2wd Auto 20's w/305's also. I get around 15.5 to 16.5 around town. I don't travel on the highway much but did get 18.39 on my way back from Bowling Green at 75mph. Get your chip reburned by Wildman and ask for the budro #1 hole. That's a live tune that runs very strong and is smoke free.

Not sure about others, but i know on mine, if i keep it at about 1700-1800 rpm on the highway i get my best mileage (19-20mpg). i have 305/70/16's and that comes out to around 65mph. any faster and it drops quick to 16-17 mpg

Yep.... there is a reason for that too that I won't go into but I have corrected for that in my tuning and the mileage at 2000 RPMs doesn't take such a big hit in the MPG department at that load/rpm.

I would just love to get 17 mpg! I have an 01 cc srw 4x4 with the only mod being exhaust. It has 285x75x16 tires and I'm lucky to see 13 mpg on the interstate. It does have 3.73 gears though if that makes a dif. Would it help if I removed the muffler from the exhaust? Which programmer/chip is the best to go with? I don't need all the extra power, but would it help with fuel mileage?

I average 14-16 in town and anywhere from 19-21 on the hi-way. 22.3 is the most i have ever gotten on the hi-way with a tail wind. But the 2wd does better than the 4wd on mpg. I have been told by several people not to use k&n filter on a diesel because they don't filter as well and causes wear on the turbo guts.
