What can I do to improve my 60' times?

Best I've been able to pull so far is a 2.01.

I have a fuel pressure issue I'm working on it but I don't think it's dropping on the launch, just doing down the track.

I think it works best for me to launch about 15psi. If I go any higher launch seems more violent, and slower 60' times

What can I do to make them faster?

How good of times were you getting with the short bus? I am about the same as Greg just above a 2.00 60ft.

all passes the other night were in the 2.4x range with 1 pass in the high 1.9's. I was intentionally launching soft, i dont want or need any broken parts. In the 96 i was always 1.9-2.0 and my best ever was a 1.85 on the 12.52 run.

Best I could tell from one of your videos, you didnt heat the tires any. Smoke em if ya got em. If I dont heat mine pretty good, it'll light up all six tires on a good hard launch. Specially if you have to roll through any water from the burnout box. Als, might try lowering your rear tire pressure a little. If that dont work , get a fat guy to ride on the open tailgate then jump out around the 60 foot mark.:D

lmfao Scott.

Burnouts really help huh? I need an excuse :ford:

I usually just drive around the water box with no burnout.
Yup. really does help out. Besides not having stacks and smoking out all the spectators on the right side wall, its fun. First trip with a chip the starter guy was standing right beside the tailpipe when I was staging. I warned him real good, but he said loudly...get it up there and stage it!! ........So I did.:D
Needless to say, he dont do that anymore.

Update.

Be careful not to over do it on your burnout. Make sure the tranny temps are still pretty low. Doing a boosted launch tonight after a good smoky burnout and the tranny didnt like it. I think I pushed it a little too hard. Somewhere around 25 psi launch. I staged first like a dummy and the car next to me drug his arse. Boosted for 20-30 seconds is not good.

On street tires heating them up just makes them greasy. If you just rolled through the water then it probably burnt the water off and made for a better launch. every time I've been to the track everyone drives around the water box and the only guys that light them up are the ones with slicks that it actually helps.

Greg what are your tires at for PSI? Drop it down to about 25 in the front and 20 in the back. That will help greatly and help keep the truck from hopping all over with higher boost launches.

I have no problem with them getting greasy feeling. My problem was that I had driven over an hour straight to get there, lined up and made one pass, and lined directly up again. The guy in the other lane drug his butt staging, and I was stupid enough to stage first. By doing this, I heated the already 185 degree tranny to just over 210, and then proceeded to do a 25 + psi launch. I totaly overheated the converter I guess. The tires worked fine. If I dont heat them good, it spins all six pretty good for about five feet.
Without heating , I get a best of around a 1.95 sixty foot. If I heat them and everything goes right, it'll pull at least a 1.75 , probly a 1.65, judging from last night. That should put me at 8.50 @ 84 mph easily. Going back tonight for some more "research".:D

Yeah, the weight def. doesnt help. But theres hope! I went 9.28 at 71 mph with the splits I had before. Should be a lot less fuel than you have right now. Also, that was with the van turbo, and stock exhaust.
