Exhaust Leak, I'm a tard.

I found my gigantic "up-pipe leak"

I've been hearing a pfft, pfft, pfft sound when I get on it hard, exhaust is loud under the hood, firewall, sounds like an 80's ford van with bad manifold leaks right....
Boost is way down, egt's way up.

Well tonight I put it in my hottest program and pop the hood to see if I see anything when I rev it. Sure enough I see it blowing smoke underneath the hood.

So I have Dad rev it while I watch and it's squirting a cloud STRAIGHT UP, at the front of the engine.
Dead center in front of the timing cover. So I'm like WTF....
I have him do it a couple more times and I get up and look.

Low and freekin behold my EBP sensor tube is COMPLETELY loose and just sitting there.

It was blowing soot like a little mini stack LMFAO.

Tighened her back up finger tight at the gas station. (blistered my fingers without realizing it... :badidea: )

On the way home all is well. Boost is back up to 27-28lbs (where it was before) and truck runs way better. EGT's barely climbed to 1250 in my extreme program on a WOT run from 50-90.

Oh, did a nice little donut for Dad in the 4 lane when we turned around. (no cars, deserted road, wyoming we're talkin here dude...)

Anyway, this is bad for 2 reason. 1 it means I'm a tard, and 2 I have no excuse to upgrade to new set of those fancy bellowed up pipes

Oh well, #$%^ happens. I did a experiment on my truck Thursday night, I run a peice of 5/16" tubing from the left head rear too the right head front to see if that would do anything for the fuel problems we have. Did'nt notice any thing great, may have started a little quicker. Got to work yesterday to find that my plumbing job sprung a leak at the rear, had a nice foutain running down the back of the motor. I did how ever find out something interesting, you would not believe the air bubbles that were coming out of the fitting after I shut it down. Looked like a bubble machine, so anyway I put her back to stock and called it Myth busted.

Hey, I like mythbusters.

You really want to quieten it down do the in tank and pre pump mods. I'm getting ready to do those. One of the big things you can do that doesn't cost $$$.

Right now I have such bad fuel knock it sounds like a pissed of dwarf is trapped in the head savagely beating it with a ball pein hammer.

I called DI earlier orderd a reg. kit ( onsale ) boost fooler, and a cross over for the HPOP system. I have to burn up some fuel befor I can do my tank mods, I've been puting it off because I have a goose neck to put on the truck ( figured I do it while the bed is off ) , I'll proble just do it the hard way and drop the tank next week end, along with puting the fuel reg. system and other go fast goodies on:ford:.

Hey , no problem. you guys are great, and that was the first time I ever called you. I bought my exhaust and SCT from RPM, they need to work on their customer service, I can,t tell you how many times I called them trying to find out where the hell my exhaust was, It took a month to get, that sucked.
