greg yours just seems kinda loud - i bet the reg return would help it a good bit ( i know you plan on one ).
is there something that idle quality has to do with performance assuming the injectors are fine?

the lope doesnt bother me at all, is this an issue of personal preference? just asking.

Yep mine's also the same. Some times it will be smooth for a short period of time.

Sounds like it has a balance issue to me. It's got a pretty good thump at idle, can you hear that same thump in the exhaust at the tail pipe?

Patrick, that nasty knock went away when I changed the pre pump filter today, went to a larger filter with higher micron rating. I should actually record another video to compare them. It's a totally different idle now, I was surprised by the results. Didn't even expect it, just needed to change the filter and tried a less-restrictive version.

Did you get your oil bleed down issues solved? How long was it running before you took the clip? The idle could be air in your hpo system. Or you could just need to send your injectors to a professional to have them worked on! :hehe:

Bleed down issue is still there. Changed the reservoir gasket and it helped, doesn't bleed down as fast now, but still does overnight.

Don't think it was air in the HPO system, I had just given it a workout for a while before driving it home.

Injectors might need help, but they sure run good for some strange reason :D :poke:

It doesn't sound bad dude. It's got some consistent hack, hack, hack, hack, hack to it, but it could easily be the ICP or timing as well.

If I can get a chance I'll try and get nothing but an idle video of mine tonight because I know they seem to sound different on video than in person, so it would be interesting to hear them both on video.

I'm sure you have all heard trucks just sitting there HACKING away at idle though. If it's unbalanced at idle, it's unbalanced everywhere, except maybe at wot. Maybe not, but probably there to , especially with respect to start of injection.

I'll try and get a vid of mine to disect....

These have been in the truck for around 2 years now untouched, so I will definately flow them when I do the tranny and all of that. They were setup for when the truck had the hole in the pickup tube and have no business not missing by now anyway due to the near complete lack of tolerance anywhere in order to even get the truck to run at all when it was full of air.

It still runs pretty smooth though.

I posted a couple others, one from outside the cab and one just cruisin around.

Bare in mind that my passenger's side manifold has a split right down from top to bottom between 3 and 5, making that plunking sound when I get around to that side of the truck. It drives me crazy. I've got an internally ceramic coated manifold sitting in the barn to match the driver's side one already on But, like a lot of other stuff, it's on the list to be done with the tranny because I just don't have any time to work on the truck right now.
