Can anyone enlighten me about this ? What pipe is it ?
Does it improve performance ? I read it also makes a bit more turbo whistle.
I'm just looking at east inexspensive mods similar to this (AIH delete and simliar). Any input is much appreciated.

Drivers side intercooler pipe... Remove, remove insulation, clean up, reinstall...


I really didnt notice a damn thing... but it looks better.

Hope you have some time it is a royal biatch to get the foil off then the fuzz ,My truck had a fuzzy i/c pipe for awhile(I do not lift the hood much for show and tell)so it only bothered me when I had to work on the truck or my bud Tinscout would razz me about it. ointlaugh: I ended up using some break clean and a worn out small wire brush to get the rest of the fuzz and glue off. It is just a shiet job at best but I must say it looks alot better un foiled.

I did not want to scratch the sheit out of the pipeing. So I just found an old wore out gorden brush and used break clean and got r did.

So thats the pipe feeding into the compressor wheel side of the turbo. Is it hard to take off and put back on.

Open your hood its the one with the foil looking stuff wrapped around it.
If you have the skill to loosen 4 hose clamps you should be able to remove the tube with little problem.

Just rip it off by hand. My buddy used a bottle of Goo Gone & a wire wheel on a drill, didn't scratch it up too much. Then he wiped it down good with brake cleaner. Went to the store & bought some Dupi-Color high heat bright red paint.
Here's what it looked like afterwards...

Look at my sig. and you will see the answer to your question as to how much horse power this mod will get you. LOL. I'm sorry I can't resist, I feel bad today. Its not that big a deal to do and yes at hwy speeds you will hear the turbo more when you roll into the throtal to pass some slow poke or climbing a hill. Sounds cool though.

Oh hell I'm bad I forgot I changed my sig. 6.45 HP was the gain, Its a joke though, who knows who cares. Its just something to do that only cost time and really does'nt make any more power.

but i took them down wet sanded them then polised the $hit out of them
