I was looking at a OBS one piece HPOP reservoir that I am going to take a stab at polishing. I noticed that there is a passageway drilled in there with a orfice that looks like it might be designed to lubricate the HPOP gear. Does anyone know if that is true?

Tom,

You are correct, allthough I haven't looked at an OBS housing in a while, the orifice serves two purposes, 1 to lubricate the gear, and 2nd to bleed out any air in the top of the housing.

That makes good sense on both points.

I am going to give it a try. This should be easier then the turbo was.

oh drat.
Tom's polishing is contagious. I'm trying to polish the compressor housing for a possible compound setup. Just something to do to keep me busy and let funds build up.
Now I'm going to have to find other parts to polish.

Tom, you going to polish the AC compressor and alternator housings also?
