how much would it affect my mileage? i know some injectors increase mileage, but what about the oil system? seems like it would help, since it is helpin the fuel system with better supply of fuel. i can travel up to 800 miles in a week, and fuel mileage is critical. so before i go all out, i want the pros/cons.

Yes, big oil does help fuel economy. Towing I saw 1.5mpg increase consistently, plus it pulls much hard now. It helped my AD's and if you want B codes you'll need the oil. While towing I couldn't make any more HP after 2600-2700 rpm, with big oil it pulls hard until the rev limiter.

The biggest thing I like about big oil is the way it makes the truck drive, the added HP was just a nice side-affect. Besides, the customer service from Joey and Terminator Engineering is second to none. I wish I had done BO much sooner.

It's not whether you really need it or not, it what the wife THINKS you need :D I don't drive the truck unloaded enough to know what the MPG would be unloaded, but I'm sure it would be higher based on my towing experience. I think JSM1 was getting pretty decent MPG numbers after big oil, might talk to him as well.

I went from getting around 17 on the hwy to over 40 mpg!:D

Really I did go from 17 to probably a little over 18 so I think 1 - 1 1/2 mpg is about right.. Joey probably has a little better insight on that.. It is hard to tell sometimes because I can't keep my dang foot out of it, its just too dam much fun.. I toasted a ricemobile yesterday. He thought he was gonna be cute and cut around traffic up to a light where 3 lanes were about to merge to 2 lanes just after the light.. He was mistaken. Perhaps he should have got a clue when he was next to me with his windows down when that first blast of soot filled his car up:D

Yes, John's numbers make me sick. He finds it entertaining to call me while relaxing in his hammock, on the beach, while I'm outside working in the 100+temps.:gun: That son of B.............:D!
You forgot about my wife bringing me my iced tea, and my daughter answering my cell phone so you would not disturb my nap.

As for mileage, I would not currently own my truck if it were not for the improvement in mileage and performance that I received with the Terminator HPOS and DP tuner live tuning. I tow almost exclusively with my truck, and my friend tows the exact trailer as I do. He would always get better mileage with his cummins, whether he was towing or unloaded. Towing he was at 11-12 mpg and unloaded at 65 mph he gets 19-20 mph. The best I could get was 11 mpg towing and 18 mpg unloaded if I was lucky and the stars were aligned right. Now I am the first to be skeptical of mileage post, I do not use the overhead and fill the tank till it is full to the top of the neck.

The increase in low end torque and the extension of the power band was truly what I was looking for, the increased mileage was a welcome byproduct. My unloaded mileage has been above 20 mpg at 65 mph and my towing mileage has been 13-14 mpg. Take it for what it is worth, if mileage and torque had not improved I would be driving a new Mega cab right now. I must say it feels great to compare mileage with my friend now. Oh and as a side note Joey said he would never speak to me again if I bought a Dodge.

My mileage went down when I installed the Terminator. It was no fault of Joey or the HPOS. Blame my right foot. I have no self control and can't resist the power. :D

First full tank with the Terminator I saw 13 mpg. That was towing for 3/4 of the tank through the Colorado Rockies. Eisenhower pass saw my truck fly by at over 90 mph with a trailer in tow. The last bit of the tank was used up at Bandimere drag racing.

I just logged 10.5 towing my trailer from Gardnerville, NV to my house. 221 miles over mountain passes, the highest being 8500'. I was jazzed to see the results with BO and B codes. EGT's were right at 1200* on the pulls up the hills.

Not pulling, I got 20.1 taking my son to scout camp and back. 300+ miles with no traffic but it too had some mountains to cross.

I am thrilled to see the results from adding BO on my truck.

Keep Strokin'

Never been able to get 500 miles out of a tank. But I've also never been able to have my truck running right since doing some more major upgrades. With that being said, I had 2 faulty b-code injectors dumping fuel at 100%, 1 at idle and the other above 2200 rpms. The one time I took it for a long drive I made sure to top it off all the way like I always do. I drove about 350 miles on less than 1/2 a tank. I've never achieved this kind of mileage before even at stock height. Then again, I also babied the truck and didn't drive it like I stole it so that could be another reason. As soon as I get the bugs worked out I'd like to finally get it dyno'd, get a 1/4 mile time, do some truck pulls, and finally figure out how good of mileage I can get, and just how bad of mileage I can get. :D
