Is there a way to tell whether I have an IDM 100 or IDM 120 so I can pick up resistors before I take things apart?

the label should say either idm 100, idm 110 or idm 120 at the connetctor side.

Alright, is there a way to tell by year or something short of taking the IDM out?

hard to say but 94-97 typically are idm 100-110. sd usually have the idm 120. but have seen some with 110's but mostly e99. best bet is to check but with 99 and newer i know its a pain because you have to pull inner fender well to get to it.

The inner fender doesn't look to difficult to pull, I can always drop the inner fender and IDM, figure it out then take my other truck or motorcycle to the store. If they do not have the exact resistances I need, how far can I deviate from their recommended values?

My E-99 has an idm 110, does the idm # effect how much power will be added?

No. Just the resistor you use. They all get bumped to 140 volt.

No. The number either 100 110 or 120 is the voltage that they are rated at. Changing the resistor bumps the voltage on all of them to 140 volts. Makes a huge difference in the clatter you'll hear from the injectors.

If the 100 is going up 40 volts and the 120, 20 volts, wouldnet the 120 have a less noticeable effect?
