What do your hpo numbers look like at wot?

 

How do I go about checking that

 

AE or scanguage

fuel filter? air filter? Does it smoke?

 

Fuel filer is new just cleaned air filter. No smoke only little white puff when starting cold

 

I'm not saying its the cause of or fix to your problem, but have you ever cleaned your ebps and tube? And as far as your power loss, its probably gonna be an injector issue or an hpop issue, no guarentees though

 

Yes I have and it seems to be pointing to injector issue

 

It seems to be pretty narrowed down but if it helps anyone today on the way home frome work if going slightly downhill I could ease the throttle and get close to 3000 rpm and about 80mph without much problem. It would only happen if I punched it to fast or was going uphill but even the slightest extra load of a small hill and instantly no power

sounds exactly like a HPOil issue...

here's a procedure on testing the ICP/HPOil pressure on a 7.3L..if you verify that your issue IS related to the HPOil system...then you'd need further diagnostics to determing which component(s) to replace. could be high mileage injectors (leaking HPOil)...IPR leaking (internally)...weak HPOP, etc...

Scanned it with a snap on. Only thing that came up was exhaust back pressure which I found the valve was brokin fixed that and it did nothing to help my problem

 

scanning it for dtc's wont tell you anything about your h.p.o. system, you need to be able to pull up a datastream

 

Does it miss or just seem to have no power?

 

Sometimes a slight miss but mostly just no power. I'm not sure if it was just the scanner or the truck but it would not pull up data stream when I tried the scanner just reset itself or had no reaction

 

Hmmmm... well I know its not the same problem, but sometimes my trucl wouldn't hold 3 grand, it would idle pretty damn lopey, and just seemed kind of tired, I dropped my 238/100's in there and it took care of it all! Also before the swap, at wot, my truck wouldn't go past about 2000 psi, and when I would let out it would go up to about 3000, the injectors seem to have fixed it too

 

My guess is that it is starving for oil. But that is only a guess until you get some numbers from your hpop. When did you change oil last? What oil are you running?

 

Changed oil about 1000 miles ago. Its rottella 15 40. Idk if I mentioned it before but the truck is also high milage so its most likely something just worn. My guess anyway

 

Definetly get some reading on your oil system before you just start throwing parts at it.

 

I plan on it if I can't get a scanner to read I'm going to make a gauge this weekend and post results

 

where can you get a scanner that will read that? and what does that cost?

Peaks Made a gauge and both heads peak at about 3000 and holdsaround 2600. Also put boost gauge in and it peaks around 15 but randomly drops to 10 or les.I'm not sure where to go from here

 

Forgot to post that the person following me last night said that when on it I was chugging a good amount of white smoke

 

When holding pedal steady, boost drops to 10 and you lose power?
