not sure if im in the section for posting this so please change to the right section...

I have a 05 f250 Harley edition and im ordering hid's from ddm tuning

thinking of the 55watt 8k for fogs and headlight..

questions is will the 55's melt the headlight cause of the heat the make?

did you buy the additional relay harness for the 55's

should I do the 55 heads and 35 fogs or just go with 35watts all together...
I drive through where theres a lot of dear so I would like to see them before its to late...

I have done some reading and it seems like 1 person has a melted fog and 100 have no problems..

I would not go Higer the 6k, as you actually start to lose usuable light (lumens).
I have Retro Solutions headlights/fogs. 55w-6k for both. Barely any blue. maybe 10%..
if I was to do the kit again I would go 55W-5k.. no blue super white, super bright!

As for the heat, I wouldnt worry. Havent had and issue with mine or the girlfriend. Both running the same kit! Couldnt be happier, super easy install.

and by rights, the fogs should get a yellow, or just moving in the white spectrum for less glare and its better for harsher conditions.. But to me, matching the fogs/lamps was more important!!

But if your looking for alot of blue, then go with the 55w-8k.. I would seriously look into the retro solutions kits, Awesome install, Awesome Customer service.. fast shipping!!!

I will converting my PIAA 520/540 Off road lamps using there kit, all 55w-6k... should be retina burning when Im back in the woods! just waiting for the weather to get nice here.. Cheers!

As said above, hids won't get as hot as a standard bulb. I run 55w in the heads and fogs from retro. I'd also advise staying around the 6k heat range. 8k is nice if you like a pretty solid blue but you'll get best light with a 5-6k

I am running kits from ddm myself. I have 55w 6k in the headlights and 35w 6k in my fogs and the amount of light I have is ridiculous. I piss off a lot of people but I to live in the stocks with a lot of dear and would like to see them with some more warning.

I ordered the ddm 55wat 8k.. I was going with the 35w 6k and I stepped up to the 55w they said to go with the 8k to get the same color as the 6k 35's.... put them in the other day and wow they look awesome... I parked in front of my garage to compare stock high vs hid and its pretty much the same but a hell of a lot brighter lol.... I haven't drove it at night yet but once I do ill let you guys know how it goes!!

I took a picture on a side street.... looks like stock but brighter.. i haven't adjusted them since the install.... im running 55w 8k in both fog and headlights.... the fogs do scatter the light.. no extra harness besides the high/low one. so far so good
