Cool bronco! 347 right?. You do the 44 up front, 9" rear ? Auto?
I started out with a EFI 5.0, c-4, and stock running gear. Rearends didnt last long. Went to a 9", then a 44 up front, locked front a rear. After the c-4 gave up the ghost, I went c-6, then after much NOS, the 302 popped a head gasket. (mad at girlfreind). Buildup really started then. I built a 393 ci windsor stroker, with victor jr. heads, the high rise victor efi, big honkin injectors, .600- .625 lift cam with around 310 duration (hyd. roller.)
Went with flat top 302 wiseco's, giving it around 11.5-1 comp. (too much for pump gas)MSD, L&L headers, and a bunch of other crap. UHhhh, then the c-6 took a crap. Tired of fighting with auto I went to a np 435 heavy $$$ cast iron 4 speed granny gear.:ford:. Tough as nails, just no more drag racing.
Fun on the rocks though! Never let me down since the straight gear.
Funniest thing- I used to pull a 24 foot enclosed with the 302/ c-4, and it was faster on take off WITH the trailer than my dads old 6.9 dually unloaded.

ointlaugh:. I miss the good old days.
