99 7.3 have had alot of problems with the truck stalling and dying. i drop the tank each time and clean the fine screened filters in tank and put it back together and it works for a few weeks then does it again. the last time i even took a shop vac and suckked everything from the fuel tank and it is acting up again tonight. has anyone ever removed the 2 filters from the sending unit in the tank? is this a bad idea or is there any way to fix this problem or any additive to put in tank to clean it ?
i jhust need some help please

It is very common on performance trucks , it is called a hutch and harpoon mod.
See guzzles page for directions. But you replace the pickup with a staw just above the bottom of the tank, then get rid of a couple of fittings that let air in the tank.
You then add a filter base with a spin off filter before the fuel pump.

Sinister diesel sells a kit with great directions.

Also pop the hood crawl up and look at your fuel bowl, is there a puddle of fluid in the Valley of the motor between the heads...if so the orings on your fuel bowl are leaking.
