Hi everyone , Im new to this forum purchased my first 7.3 to pull my travel trailer . 1996 f250 crewcab 4x4 254,000 miles trans went out shortly after buying it would lock up and stall in reverse . so i purchased a built BD 4X4 E40D TRANSMISSION W/ 7.3 SUPER DUTY TORQUE CONVERTOR . i have read and know they build these transmissions are built not to slip so as to reduce wear . but damn ! this thing shifts hard!! . it slams in to 2nd gear and jars you teeth!! . are all built stage 2 transmissions like this . can anything be done to ease the shifts , will a tow chip help or make worse . any advice would be appriciated . thank you
