I have a 4" turbo to tail and the H2E kit arrived with a 3.5" down pipe. Those of you with an H2E mounting kit, what did you do to make the transition?

I see there are intake pipes for sale for the H2E to work with the AFE. How can I make the pipe work that came with the kit?

Thanks,

Installing the H2e was easier than replacing the up-pipes on the factory set-up. Just take your time, look at some pics on webshots, Just type in "H2e" in the search window. I made my intake pipe from the old 4" downpipe and a 4" boot to connect the AFE II to the pipe, worked great. I'll see if I can get you a pic today. Have Fun!

i was able to use the parts w/the h2e kit and my afe to make the connection. It's not the prettiest thing in the world, but it works.

I cut the H2E off just before the ccv inlet, then streatched the afe stuff to make it all work.

The exhaust has me wondering too, since I'm headed down that road in a couple months and like you, have 4" off the turbo. Intake seem's pretty easy to handle (loving ITP's intake pipe)...but, how did you guys do the exhaust

Did you utilize that at the end of the DP, or up closer to the turbo? Reworded: the H2E DP that comes with it - was the DP itself modified all, or something like a reducing collar was made that was then put on the end of the supplied H2E DP?

i had a reducer that clamped into my exhaust, the 3.5" clamped on the tail end of the h2e dp, the other end clamped to my exhaust. If and what you modify will depend on how much room you have or need to make, and that will be dependent upon truck and exhaust systems. From what i've heard, the 3.5" dp on the H2E works great, so there shouldn't be too much concern regarding that. Just my $.02 though

I like the 3 1/2" dp personally

You can get all different manner and sizes of adapters for pipe sizes. Check out your local big truck parts supply house. I buy a lot of stuff from Air Flow Systems. www.airflo.com if you don't see what ya want on their site call them, they stock lots more than they show online.

Or you can just go to the local exhaust shop and have them hook it up for you.

I am going to order from them tonight. I stopped by the local truck parts house and they don't carry anything smaller than 4". Special order with a week lead time and I have to pay freight. So airflow will be easier, at least to me...

Hey Dave, did you get any pics of your intake? I am trying to get a handle on when I can install this thing. It looks like I am going to have to wait to install for a couple of weeks. I need some kind of intake adapter and exhaust adapter. I have a vacation planned starting Oct 6th and the truck is pulling my trailer for a week.

Here is a kit http://www.itpdiesel.com/store.php?crn=100&rn=541&action=show_detail it is cheaper then the one I paid for last year.

I know you were deciding between the 70mm/17cm and a 66mm/17cm. So which one did you get?

Dang, $180?? That's rediculous. It's nice and the chrome is cute, but seriously?
I just cut my h2e intake tube back and added a 45deg boot($25 or so). DockBoy had something similar to mine on his mod'd H2e. I ended up modifying the ccv port and repainting mine later on.
I've got pics too if you need them. Just let me know where to send them.
