Going to replace my glow plugs tonight. any tips or anything in particular i should look out for? thanks guys

Should be pretty easy and straight forward. Dont torque them too tight. And becareful with their little lead wires.

While your in there, check the condition of your valve cover gaskets and UVCH wiring.


Did you buy the glowplugs straight from Ford?

168 in/lbs.

make sure you have a swivel extension for the psngr side.

Make sure to clean the oil from around the GP before you remove them to keep it out of thee cylinders

I need to do it soon. My truck has to cycle 4 times to start when it is 30 out

The "cycle" is two minutes. So you're leaving the key on for two minutes, turning it off, and repeating FOUR times?

If you're turning the key off when the WTS light goes off, you're wasting your time. The GP cycle has nothing to do with the WTS light.
