Are there any torque ratings to use when tightning the GP's or do you just get them real snug. Any other pointers to use for them? I'm installing Bosch ( told they were a great quality GP ? ) GP's this weekend in the father in laws 97'. Thanks, Rick

There is a torque spec but I don't have it handy... perhaps about 14lb-ft IIRC... I'l post it later tonight if no one else has yet.

Tell us how the Bosch(s) work for you. I had used the Bosch (dual coil or self-regulating, I think they call them) g/ps for a long while and they worked fine. However I always noticed my idle would vary up and down as the apparently "self-regulate" and load and unload the electrical system. Never had it before the Bosch g/ps and never since replacing them with the M/Craft ZD-11 (Berus)...

God bless,

TC

Has any one else had this problem with the Bosch GP's? Should I buy something different? Thanks,

When I change GP's I use a small syringe with a WD-40 tube on it to suck all of the oil out of the GP cup. That way I dont have any oil getting into the cylinders. I usually get about 5-7cc's of oil out of every cup.

Glowplugs have a taper seat so I just go snug. If you do not get them tight you will play hell getting them out next time.

I got the bosch, no problems so far. I did have the autolites. They suck.
Less than a year, two were fried. Still cranked fine even with two bad ones, but I wont get another set of those even if free.

Has anyone tried the "Instant Heat" ones that are all over Ebay? LINK

I put some AC Delco ones in my truck and one of them is a little weak. I have to cycle the plugs twice in 0* temps to get it to start.

I think I am going to get a set and give them a try this winter. Hell what's 75 bucks if it start's right up.
