I keep blowing the under the steering column fuse #30. I've read many posts concerning this and tried unplugging the fuel heater plug, and still have the same problem. There are 2 electrical connections behind the fuel pump as far as I can tell, and I've tried them both. Every time I turn the ignition from off to the start postition, the fuse blows. Like most other posts on this topic, no Wait to Start light either.

BTW, I have a 99 250 super duty with a 7.3 liter

Any and all direction will be greatly appreciated!

If you take out the filter and drain the fuel bowl, You should see the heater coil at the bottom inside the bowl. Unplug it from there. You should be ok after that. Otherwise, you have a wiring short.

Look up "Fuel bowl rebuild" and you should find some excellent write ups on doing this.

When I rebuilt my fuel bowl, I left the heater off. The plate is still required though to hold the center valve in place.
