A buddy of mine is doing the cummins swap in a 2000 f250. We have everything done, engine and trans all mounted, wired up new guages, completely ready to drive except for one problem. We cant get the fuel to stay primed. We can put the fuel line in a bucket and she runs great.when it goes to pull fuel from the tank(and yes there is fuel in the tank) it keeps grabbing air. We have been checking for air leaks. cant find anything.we've bled the line over and over and still cant hold the prime. anybody with any help/information/pointers, please let me know. thanks.

Not sure what your engine is but,
We had a common rail with a CP3 on it and it would idle, but as soon as we tried to speed up it would stall, changed CP3 and it still did the same thing. Finally found out about the small lift pump on the side of the engine was shot, bypassed it and she worked perfect.

Betting youve got some restriction in the supply line. Does it have an in tank pump youre trying to pull through (originally a gasser)? You may be collapsing the line from suction, unusual but happens, Fittings on top of the tank bleeding air in? Id drop the tank down and start looking there. Maybe even try opening the gas cap, maybe youre creating suction from not having any breather on the tank.
