I am putting in a high flow fuel system to hopefully keep up with my B codes. I am deleting the fuel bowl at the same time.

What kind of pressure does the fuel return line see? I am trying to see if I can just slid the hose from the regulator over the stock return line and clamp the hell out of it. Or do I need some kind of compression fitting?

Thanks

I don't know the pressure but I think you will be fine just clamping it all the fuel system at work are just clamped but they aren't a hi flow system either.

The pressure and flow in the return line will vary depending on load conditions and the volume of the pump you install. Return line pressure will be highest at idle and fall as load increases.

Can't say for sure what the pressure will be because we don't know how big a fuel pump you are going to install. You should be just fine clamping the return line on, but I would just use from compression fittings on the hard line and use JIC fittings on the hoses myself.

It's really too easy to put a compression fitting on to worry about it, if worrying about it is something you would do if it were hose over tube with a clamp.

I always take whatever I've got and get to AN/JIC or ORB as soon as possible. worm gear clamps and pipe thread really piss me off, lol. A few extra dollars spent on fittings will yeild better durability, servicing, and just a general look of professionalism that you can be proud of.

Most likely its going to free flow as long as you don't have a kink somewhere... and it's not going to get above 2-3psi... clamp is okay, but the compression fitting to jic would be nicer for sure.

The return line appears to be 5/16" or is it some metric equivalent? Or does it matter, just crank the hell out of the standard size to seal
