So I have a 1997 f250 7.3 is it normal for the fuel pressure to bounce around?
It steadily bounces from 55psi to 60psi.
And you can feel it in the idle of the truck the whole truck seems to bounce at an idle with the trans in park. But the tach stays steady. I have a video but can figure out how to load it.

No, it shouldn't pulsate at idle. Maybe clean the screen between the filter bowl housing and the fuel pressure regulator. Cheers!

Ok so I cleaned the screen in the fuel bowl with no change to the idle.
It seems with a small amount of load on the engine at idle, a/c on it seems to idle smooth.

I took the truck on a trip this weekend and averaged 19.5 mpg truck ran great.
But still has a bouncy idle if you are sitting in the truck in park the whole truck just kinda bounces

I did a buzz test and a cyl contribution test everything came back fine. Fuel pressure is 58-60 psi but the fuel pressure seems to bounce between 55-60 psi and the bouncy idle seems to follow that swing in fuel pressure.

I’m at a loss just looking for some guidance.
The tach holds steady while idling.
Thanks in advance for any help.

When I use Hot Shot Secret in my oil changes my idle smooths out...maybe try that.
