I have a 97 7.3l powerstroke that is obviously getting fuel to the fuel bowl. With the truck running i can push my Schrader valve on the side of the fuel bowl in and it will spray all the way to the battery. It has immaculate pressure at the fuel bowl. But here's my issue. It starts, it runs, it drives, but doesn't even puff the slightest bit of smoke. Even with a ts6 and a 140hp tune. When it is cold it will smoke a little puff of black smoke right before it shifts. You can tell it is sluggish like it isn't getting enough fuel. Not to mention im only building around 12 pounds of boost at 3000rpms.

it is not supposed to smoke.
and you will not see boost unless you are under load.
12 lb boost is about normal.
put 10,000 lbs on a trailer behind it and pull a long uphill grade and you will see 20+ lbs boost.

That's because OBS trucks have AA injectors, and aren't good for more than 80hp over stock. Its lacking fuel because it physically doesnt have it. You also need more fuel to make boost.

If you think you are low on boost, check for boost leaks and exhaust leaks.

Get bigger injectors too.
